Dorothy L. Babcock, 91, of Orleans, passed away on Tuesday January 6, 2014 at Brown County Health and Living in Nashville, IN.
She was born on August 24, 1923 in Valeene, IN, the daughter of Chester and Florence (Bunch) Thompson.
She married John Babcock on November 14, 1959 in Orleans, IN and he preceded her in death.
She worked as a nurse assistant, later worked at Westinghouse and Paoli Shoe Factory as an assembly worker. She attended the Orleans Wesleyan Church.
She is survived by one son, Danny Lee Babcock of Nashville, IN; one grandson, Michael (Brooke) Babcock of Nebraska; two great grandsons, Collen and Cameron Babcock; one brother, Raymond Thompson of Salem, IN; one sister, Ester Vanlaningham of Milford, IN
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one daughter, Connie Lynn Babcock, one brother, one sister.
The funeral will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 9, 2015 at Ochs-Tetrick Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Hester and Bro. Robert Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Orleans.
Friends are invited to visitation at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM.
