Charles A Frederick, 67, of 921 Birch St., died yesterday in Reading Hospital. He was a native of Reading, a son of the late John D and Annie E (Nagle) Frederick, and was a member of St. Stephen's Evangelical and Reformed Church. He was a teacher in the Junior Department of the Sunday school for 45 years. He also served as a deacon, subsequently as an elder on the consistory, being an officer there more than 30 years.

He was a carpenter by trade and had been employed for the past 12 years in the maintenance department of the Reading School District. He was a member of Reading Lodge No. 549, F&AM; Reading Consistory, Scottish Rite Masons; Rajah Temple, Mystic Shrine; the Rajah Chanters; Vigilance Lodge No. 194, I00F; Friendship Commandery No. 247, A&ION of Malta, and the Carpenters Union.

Surviving are his widow, Edith E (Sassaman) Frederick; a daughter, Mildred J at home; a sister, Bertha, wife of William Good, Laureldale, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Thursday at 1:30 PM in the Henninger Funeral Home, the Rev. Dr. Morris D Silfer officiating. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery. Reading Lodge will conduct services on Wednesday evening.
