James M. Delk, 75, of New Castle, passed away Monday, Mar. 2,2015 at his residence. He was born Nov. 4,1939 in Clinton Co., KY to the late Oney C. and Hattie G. (Beaty) Delk.

He was raised in New Castle and attended New Castle High School. He was drafted to the US Army in 1962 at the age of 24. James retired from Visteon in Connersville as a machine repairman following 21 years of service. he was a member of the New Castle Masonic Lodge and the New Castle American Legion. In his spare time, James loved spending time with his family and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Survivors include a son, James Everett (Yvonne) Delk of New Castle; daughter, Sharon Delk of New Castle; two grandchildren, Jessica M. (Caleb) Hatfield of Minnesota and James Oney Delk of New Castle; great-granddaughter, Serenity Lee Hatfield and Castiel Dean Hatfield due in July; a brother, Earl (Barbara) Beaty of New Castle; sister, Edith (Boyd) Green of GA; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Lee Delk.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Mar. 6,2015 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition.
