She was born June 16, 1930 to Bertrum L and Edna Johnson in Salina, Utah.
She married her eternal companion, Richard Rasmussen, on June 10, 1953. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple on March 3, 1962.
OraNell grew up in Monroe, graduated from South Sevier High School and went on to attend Snow College in Ephraim. She was an active member of the LDS church serving in many callings over the years. She enjoyed the wonderful friendships made during the many years she worked for Wells Fargo (First Security Bank) and Monroe Drug Store. She was a proud member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
OraNell loved her family. She was a wonderful example for others with how attentive and caring she was to her husband, parents, grandparents, sister, children, and grandchildren. She loved to sew and create beautiful quilts for those she loved.
Together OraNell and Richard raised a family of 5 children: Evelyn (Terry) Hoyle, Rosemary (Bob) Coon, Ruth (Scott) Niemeyer, Karen (Troy) Olsen, and James (Naomi) Rasmussen, 21 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. They have 4 new great grandchildren due this spring. She is also survived by her sister-in-laws Betty Larson, Bonnie (Bob) Killebrew and brother-in-law Rhett (Karen) Rasmussen along with numerous loving nieces and nephews. They were so proud of their family and loved them so much.
Preceded in death by her husband; parents; step mother, Estella H. Johnson; sister, Ethelyn Hyatt; son-in-law, Terry Hoyle; and granddaughter Valerie Coon.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 12:00 pm. Family and friends may pay their respects from 10:30 to 11:30 am, prior to the services both at the Monroe 4th Ward, 49 East 200 North, Monroe, Utah.
