She was born April 7, 1926, in Keota to John J. and Elizabeth (Muhlbeir) Zimbelman.
On Nov. 15, 1944, she married Herman Huwa in Greeley.
Mrs. Huwa graduated in 1944 from Prospect Valley High School. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, cooking, sewing and crafts. She worked on her family's genealogy and was a devoted wife and mother, who especially enjoyed her grandchildren. A special hobby was pig collectibles, and she accumulated a large collection.
Mrs. Huwa was a member of the Prospect Valley Community Church.
Survivors are her husband, Herman Huwa of Keenesburg; two daughters, Doris Ann Schlidt of Thornton and Janet Mock and husband Dale of Greeley; a son, Richard Huwa and wife Patty of Prospect Valley; a sister, Rosie Weickum of Prospect Valley; eight grandchildren, Brian Schlidt of Northglenn, Brenda Schlidt of Newark, N.J., Danita Koehler of Arvada, Craig Mock of Fort Collins, Brent Huwa and Corey Huwa, both of Roggen, Tyrun Huwa of Strasburg and Kasen Huwa of Eaton; and nine great-grandchildren. Her parents are deceased.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Four Way Baptist Church in Hudson. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Greeley.
