He married Mary Ann Owings in 1757 in Frederick County. She was the daughter of Col. Robert Owings (1698-1760) and Hannah Farquhar. Mary was born in York, Pennsylvania about 1738 and died in 1802. They were the parents of eight known children:
1-Robert Livers (1760 Emmitsburg MD-?)
2-Arnold Livers (Feb 6 1762 Emmitsburg MD-Sept 29 1804 Baltimore MD)
3-William Anthony Livers (1764-1782)
4-Joseph F. Livers (Jan 22 1765-Aug 5 1827)
5-William Livers (abt 1767-June 17 1809)
6-Hellen Livers Keepers (1769-Oct 14 1823)
7-Johanna 'Hannah' Livers Elder (1772-March 22 1827 Mechanicstown MD) St A
8-Thomas Livers (abt 1778-Jan 4 1855?)
*Leslie printed an online biography of Arnold's daughter, Hellen Livers. Her information states that Arnold, Sr. named two of his sons Arnold. This Arnold was the son of Mary Ann Drane. The son of his first wife Helena Gordon became a Jesuit priest. Rev. Livers loved horses, which he bred at St. Inigoes (St. Ignatius) in St. Mary's County. He enjoyed poetry and also cultivated and collected flowers. The daybook of Father Livers is preserved at Woodstock College in Maryland. Leslie believes the birth year of the second born Arnold, Jr. was 1737. In addition, his will is online at Rootsmagic, and May 23 1777 is the date he wrote his will, knowing that he was weak and sick.
[Burial location is according to the research of Dan Cornett, D. W. MacKinnon, Anna Higgins, J. Flaherty, Norvan L. Johnson, and Cindy Butler. Cindy believes his death date is June 1789. Other information comes from the book, 'Arnold Livers Family in America' by Sister Mary Louise Donelly. According to contributor Joe Lyvers #48899710, this book has been updated as a revised edition published in 2007. These researchers may have been mistaken about this burial place. After reviewing family trees indicating St. Ignatius Church as his burial place (presumably near his home in Frederick County), it would seem that perhaps they were all confusing the site given for his brother, the Jesuit priest. Rev. Livers is buried at St. Ignatius Church in St. Inigoes in St. Mary's County.]
