Pioneer Residents and Aged Citizens
Pass to Last Long Rest.
After an illness covering a long period of years Mrs. Louisa Buelow, one of the early settlers of Milford township, died Saturday evening at the home of her son-in-law, E. Kellermann, on Center street. Deceased was 75 years of age and had resided in Brown county since 1867. Mrs. Buelow was born at Mecklenburg, Germany, April 11, 1828, and much of her life was spent in the country of her birth. At the age of 25 she was united in marriage to Andrew Buelow and in 1858 emigrated to America with her husband. They settled in the state of Wisconsin and remained there for nine years before coming to Minnesota, when they went to live on a farm in Milford. There they continued to make their home for fifteen years, eventually coming to New Ulm in 1882. Some twelve years ago Mrs. Buelow was afflicted with a disease and sine that time she has been an invalid. Despite this fact, however, she had a wide acquaintance among the older residents of the city and was universally liked and respected for her many amiable triats. Her husband died four years ago but she leaves four children: F. H. Buelow, postmaster at Sleepy Eye; A. Buelow of Kingfisher, Oklahoma; Mrs. Aug. Ganske of Clements, and Mrs. E. Kellermann of New Ulm, to cherish her memory. Rev. C. J. Albrecht conducted the funeral services, which were held at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon. Interment was made in the Lutheran cemetery.
