Eunice “Sally” (Yarger) Corey

Eunice "Sally" (Yarger) Corey, 98 yrs, died Sunday, February 22, in Belmont Village, Houston, TX, under the care of Amel Community Hospice. Friends may call at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, Saturday, from 11 AM- 1 PM, There will be a service for Eunice at 1 PM at the Capaul Funeral Home, Ida, Saturday after visitation. Pastor Joel Walther will officiate. Burial will be in Nariah Cemetery, Temperance, MI.
Eunice was born August 20, 1916 on a farm on Crabb Road and was the daughter of Harbine and Lucy (Moyer) Yarger and sister of James Yarger. Eunice attended Dundee High School, earned a two year teaching certificate from the University of Michigan and also received her Bachelor Degree from the University of Michigan. Eunice met Clark Corey at the University of Michigan in the fall of 1942. They got married in 1944. After that, Eunice followed Clark to a military assignment in California and Dallas, TX, where she taught for about one year. Eunice returned to Ann Arbor and taught for some years. They then built a house and moved to Belleville, MI, on the Lake in 1958. In 1962 they adopted four little kids; Mary, John, Nancy and Sue, from the same family. Eunice and Clark were divorced in 1973. Eunice taught grade school in Michigan public schools for approximately thirty eight years. In 2011 Eunice moved to Houston where she was under assisted care living. Since Houston, her nephew, Harold Yarger, has been managing her care. Harold is the son of James Yarger, her brother.
Eunice is survived by her four children and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her ex-husband, Clark Corey. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James Yarger.
