Mr. Daniel Jackson Alexson, Sr. passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Marlboro Park Hospital in Bennettsville.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Bennettsville Second Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Denny Costner and Rev. Kenny Bryant. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Burroughs Cooper Kiser Funeral Home.

Born May 15, 1932, Mr. Alexson was a son of the late James Preston and Alma Stogner Alexson. Mr. Alexson was a veteran of the United States Army and the Army National Guard. He retired as an upholster with the Bennettsville Mattress Factory. Mr. Alexson was a member of Bennettsville Second Baptist Church. He loved the Atlanta Braves and was also a Jeff Gordon fan. He enjoyed watching old westerns and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and talking with his brother, Roy, on the phone.

Mr. Alexson was preceded in death by his parents, listed above; his brothers, George and Butch Alexson; sisters, Pearl Tesluck, Hazel Irons and infant sister, Sarah Alexson; infant son, John Alexander Alexson.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory: his wife, Pearl Alexson, of the home; sons, Daniel J. Alexson, Jr. (Gail) of Mt. Croghan, SC; James Edward Alexson, Sr. (Rita) of Pageland, SC; and Glenn Eugene Alexson of Bennettsville; a daughter, Jessica Diane Whitten (Wayne) of Fort Worth, TX; a brother, Roy Oscar Alexson, Sr.; and grandchildren, Alissa Brumett, James E. Alexson, Jr., Paul Jackson Alexson, Pamela D. Alexson, and Katie Alexson.
