Peter W. "Pete" Pappas, age 65, of Fernandina Beach, FL, passed away Saturday morning, February 21, 2015 at the Warner Center for Caring in Fernandina Beach.

Mr. Pappas was born on June 5, 1949 in Fernandina, FL, the oldest of two sons, born to the late John P. and Edith Burbank Pappas. He was a graduate of Rock Hill High School in Rock Hill, SC, Class of 1967. While living in Rock Hill, Mr. Pappas was a member of the Episcopal Church of Our Savior where he served as head Acolyte. He also was an Eagle Scout and Troop Leader, Troop #105 in Rock Hill. Mr. Pappas then attended Clemson University where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity and earned his Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Management in 1972.

He served in the South Carolina Army National Guard from 1970 to '75. Mr. Pappas relocated to Houston, TX, and later to Brazoria, TX, where he was employed by Shepler's Inc., an Industrial Sales Firm, and later became Vice President of SE Region in sales. In 2005, Mr. Pappas came to Fernandina Beach where he was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church. He loved hunting, fishing and was an avid boater.

He leaves behind his Fiancé, Grace Lipman of Fernandina Beach, his former wife and mother of his two children, Donna Parker Pappas of Houston, TX. His two children, Jamie Pappas Shepard and her husband, Geno, of Houston, TX, and John Peter Pappas II of Brazoria, TX. His brother Theodore Burbank Pappas and his wife, Gaye, of Fernandina Beach and one grandchild, Peter William Pappas II.

A memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, March 9, 2015 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church with Rev. Rector Stephen Mazingo officiating. He will be laid to rest following the service in the family plot in St. Peter's Episcopal Cemetery. If so desired, Memorials may be made in Mr. Pappas' name to Community Hospice of NE Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Rd., Jacksonville FL, 32257 or St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 801 Atlantic Ave., Fernandina Beach, FL.
