CHILHOWIE, Va. Walter W. Billings, age 98, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Grace Healthcare in Abingdon, Virginia. Mr. Billings was born in Chilhowie, Virginia. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Alberta R. Billings. He is survived by his Wife, Marie Blevins Billings; Two Children, Harold Billings and wife Carole, and Phyllis Wallace and husband Pete; Four Grandchildren, Paige Watson and husband Kelly, Peter Wallace and wife Paula, Steven W. Billings and wife Laura, and Shannan Billings and John Stephens; Seven Great Grandchildren, Madisson Billings, Taylor Billings, Aubrey Billings, Garrett Wade Billings, Parker Wade Wallace, Peyton Wallace, and Preston Wallace Watson; and Step Daughters, Carol Blevins and Family, and Patricia Blevins and Family. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at the Chilhowie Baptist Church with Pastor Chuck Herrell and the Reverend Darrell Watson officiating. Interment will follow in the Westwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Chilhowie Baptist Church Building Fund 1217 W. Lee Hwy, Chilhowie, VA 24319.
