B. F. CRESS IS DEAD
Special to the Gazette:
Council Grove, Sept. 14--B. F. Cress, 78, local abstracter, died at his home in Council Grove Tuesday afternoon. He had been in ill health for several months.
Mr. Cress was editor of a number of small weekly newspapers at one time. Later he farmed near Parkerville, disposing of his interests there to move to Council Grove, where he served two terms as county clerk.
Active in Democratic political circles in the Fourth district, Mr. Cress had a wide acquaintance over this section of Kansas.
Surviving Mr. Cress are his widow, Helen Cress, of the home; five daughters, Mrs. Fern Sharp and Mrs. Zoe Sharp, of Council Grove; Nell Sullivan, of Wichita; Miss Marls Cress, of Junction City, and Myrle Nichols, of Ft. Thompson, South Dakota, and three sons, Hal, of Manhattan; Fletcher, of Topeka, and Rea, of Junction City.
