Mrs. Helen J. Calfee Hanks, 83, of Grove Drive, Pulaski, died early this morning in the Pulaski Community Hospital. Born in Carroll County, Sept. 4, 1898, she was the daughter of the late Lynch Calfee and Ada Mitchell Calfee. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Pulaski. She was the widow of James Eric Hanks. Surviving are five daughters, Sally Ratcliffe and Veda Williams, both of Pulaski, Alene Goad and Geneva Richardson, both of Woodlawn, and Una Lee Brewer of Galax; two sons, Elmer Hanks and James Hanks, both of Pulaski, and 17 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. The funeral will be Sunday, at 2 p.m. from First Christian Church with the Rev. C. Maynard Powell officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Visiting will be Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home.
