Elva "Tex" Turner-Glenn, 87, died September 10, 2010, at her home in Salisbury, North Carolina.

She was born in Wellington, Texas and graduated from Wellington High School with the Class of 1941. She lived in Vero Beach, Florida since 1957. She was a Navy veteran, serving in World War II. She served as the school secretary at Vero Beach Elementary and later owned Vero Travel Service. She was active in the Indian River Hospital Auxiliary, Indian River schools, Environmental Learning Center and Indian River Visiting Nurse Association hospice care program.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her sons, William Ray Turner of Houston and Richard Harrison Turner of Salisbury; daughter, Leona Sue Turner of Salisbury; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Bill Turner and Matthew Glenn.
