Margaret Morrison, age 91 of Breckenridge, passed away, Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Villa Haven Health & Rehabilitation Center. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 14th in the Breckenridge Cemetery with Jim Cox officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Margaret Pearl Barron was born August 9, 1921 to parents, William David Barron & Mary Helen Upham Barron in Graham, Texas. She grew up in Graham and graduated from Graham High School. She married Dick C. Morrison on February 11, 1950 in Clovis, New Mexico. Mrs. Morrison worked in shoe stores in Graham and The Popular Store in Breckenridge from 1948 until 1950. Later she began working for Breckenridge Independent School District in 1958 as a registrar and secretary until 1977. Mrs. Morrison was a charter member of Lady Elks, Beta Sigma Phi sorority, past secretary of Texas Education Secretary Association & Retired Teachers Association. She also attended and was a member of Elliott St. Church of Christ since 1975. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother, one sister & one sister in law. Mrs. Morrison is survived by one son, Dick Morrison & wife Angie of Melissa; one daughter, Ann Helm & husband Jim of Wylie; three grandchildren, Mike Helm & Mark Helm both of Wylie, Misty Warrick & husband Bryan of Celina; and eight great grandchildren.
