Annella “Ann” Seelen, age 82, of Little Falls, MN, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2015, at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, MN.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Little Falls, MN, with Fr. Joseph Herzing officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 24th at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls with a Parish Prayer Service at 6:00 p.m.
Visitation will continue on Wednesday, Feb. 25th from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls.
Annella “Ann” Sophia Bollig was born on December 2, 1932 in Granite Township, Morrison County, Minnesota the daughter of Joseph & Sophia (Altenhoven) Bollig. She grew up on a number of farms in the Hillman and Pierz areas where she also attended country school. She eventually got her GED. Ann left home at the age of 15 and moved to the Twin Cities where she worked various jobs. She was united in marriage to William M. Seelen on October 28, 1952, at St. Paul Catholic Church in St. Cloud. The couple made their home in Little Falls where they raised their children. While living in Little Falls, Ann worked at Munsingwear until it closed in 1982 and then at Larson Boats. Ann was the anchor, “The Aunt” of the extended family. Any time anyone needed prayers, advice or just to talk, she was there for everyone. She was a faithful prayer warrior to St. Jude for all her children and family. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Ann enjoyed spending time, whether in person or on the phone, with everyone especially her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and her friends. She also enjoyed trips to the casino and was thankful for people who took the time to take her.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Linda (Dave) Burggraff, Robert (Cheryl) Seelen both of Little Falls, Cindi (Leo) Trettel of North Prairie, Sheila Oldakowski of Rice and William J. (Jenell Olson) Seelen of Bowlus; grandchildren, Brian (Tina) Burggraff, Amy (Chad) Poppenhagen, Diana (Reese) Gronau, Keith (Venna Tschida) Trettel, Stephanie (Wes Davis) Trettel, Adrian Trettel, Ryan (Brittany Struzyk) Oldakowski, Corey Oldakowski; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Ruth Bollig, Bernice Bollig and Adeline Bollig and many nieces and nephews.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph & Sophia (Altenhoven) Bollig; husband, William (1983); siblings, Richard Bollig, Wilfred Bollig, Paul Bollig, James Bollig, Matthew Bollig, Joseph Bollig, Emily Tretter, Alice Muehlbauer, and Marietta Heim.
