Larry E. Cook, 64, of Prospect Kentucky and Melbourne Beach, Florida, passed away Tuesday at the Jewish Hospital, Louisville. He was a cost analyst for Ford Motor Company Kentucky Truck Plant and an attorney-at-law. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and a navigator in the US Navy. He flew the C 130 aircraft to Vietnam during the conflict. He was chosen to work on the Apollo 11 Project with the Department of Defense Manned Spaceflight joint Services at Patrick AFB, Florida. He was a graduate of Purdue University and the University of Louisville School of Law. He was a member of MENSA and a retired member of the Kentucky Bar Association. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Walker Cook, a son, John Cook, two daughters, Linda (David) Winkler, and Amy Cook, his mother, Glenna Bostic Cook, two grandsons, Christopher Brittain and Scott Winkler, two sisters, Leah Cook (James) Ash and Kathy Cook LeGere and one brother, Willard (Frances) Cook. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Arch L. Heady & Son, Westport Road at Herr Lane, with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens-East. Visitation will be after noon Friday. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Lyndon Christian Church Building Fund.
