George Leonard Adams
1931 ~ 2015
George Leonard Adams, 83, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend, left this earthly life on Thursday, February 19, 2015, with his loving family at his side bidding him farewell.
Born in American Fork, Utah December 28, 1931, he is the third of four children and the oldest son of George Adams and Kate Rowley Adams. He is the treasured brother to his older sisters Marybetha, (who died as an infant) and Fern Arlene and younger brother Stanly Joshua. Their reunion must have been amazing; he missed them so badly for too long. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
George had truck driving in his blood and drove until he was hospitalized in December 2014. Some of his childrens and nephews' fondest memories from childhood are the times he would take them on the road. They loved spending time with him on the truck and having him teach them how to drive. There were not too many teenagers who could say the first vehicle they drove was an 80,000-pound 18-Wheeler. He had more friends than anyone. He could walk into any truck stop in the country and find at least one of his friends. People loved to hang out with him.
He was passionate about anything to do with trucks, old cars, and Harleys. One of his last desires was to get out of the hospital and hit the road on his bike.
George is survived by his beautiful wife, Blanche Hales Adams and his adoring children Dawna (Tim) Beavers, Del City, Oklahoma; Debbie (Lee) Gordon, Spanish Fork; Julie (Jeff) Carlisle, Payson; Steve (Marla) Adams, Spanish Fork; Jim (Kristin) Adams, Lehi. He also had 22 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, brothers and sisters in-law, and many nieces and nephews whom he loved.
A celebration of Georges life will be held on Monday, February 23, 2015 at 1:00p.m. at the Palmyra Stake Center 16th Ward LDS Church, 505 E 900 N, Spanish Fork, UT. A viewing will be held Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00p.m. at the church and Monday prior to services at 12:00p.m.
