“Chuck” Charles Henry Carl, 94 passed into the presence of his Savior on Thursday, February 5, 2015 from complications during surgery from a broken leg.
He is survived by his wife; Donna of Hanford, his children; Claudia Bragg of Wisconsin and Charles “Danny” Carl of California, a grandson; Justin of Virginia and one great-grandchild.
When he married Donna Blackburn on June 28, 1994, he also embraced her three daughters; Wendy Blesener (Jerry) of Minnesota, Diana Larkin (Don) of California and Patti Jensen (Ken) of California; the 9 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, who all called him “Papa Chuck”! Chuck was born on February 1, 1921, in Carrizozo, New Mexico, the son of J.C. and Edna Carl. He served in the United States Navy in World War II, and then settled in Hanford. He served the community in various capacities including many years with Allstate Insurance, the Salvation Army Advisory Board, United States Naval Reserves, Christian Businessmen's Committee, Full Gospel Businessmen's Fellowship, Valley Long Ears and Calvary Christian Center.
