Edward Dale Emmons, a resident of Bogalusa, LA, age 79, born on November 12, 1935 in Newton, MS, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Good Samaritans Nursing Home in Franklinton, LA.

He was a Veteran and served in the National Guard of Louisiana and as a Reserve of the Army of the United States.

Edward was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the highlight of his life and he made them who they are today.

He is survived by his wife, Lydia R. Emmons; two daughters, Tammy Thomas and Karen (Steve) Miley; one son, Dale (Amy) Emmons; two sisters, Christine Herd and Marion Davis; seven grandchildren, Lindsey Thomas, Andrew Thomas, Emily Thomas, Christopher (Sierra) Emmons, Logan Emmons, Kyle Miley, and Kalli (Daniel) Ricau; two great-grandchildren, Miley Grace Ricau and Ellie Kate Ricau; his sister-in-law, Vivian Rowe; his brother-in-law, William Rowe; numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Isom N. Emmons and Myrtle Goolsby Emmons.

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 P.M. The Funeral Services will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Greg Whaley officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.
