Dorothy B Gatten, 86, of McNabb died Monday afternoon, Jan 24 at St Margaret's Hospital in Spring Valley. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 am Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic church in Granville with Rev Howard B Barch Jr officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Granville. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 am Wednesday at Dysart-Cofoid Funeral Chapel in Granville.
Mrs Gatten was born March 25, 1913 in Marseilles to Albert and Lilly Bell (Butterfield) Johnson. She married Ronald Gatten in August of 1972. He died March 15, 1988. She was previously employed as a sales clerk at Wieboldt and Marshall Field Co. She was a member of St Andrew's Catholic Church in Chicago. She is survived by a son, Michael (Gloria) Rugen of McNabb; a daughter, Carol (Sam) Hadley of Marseilles; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John C Rugen Sr; a son John C Rugen Jr; and seven brothers and sisters. Memorials may be directed to the donor's choice. Pallbearers will be John and Michael Rugen, Ron Soberri, Dave and Tim Thompson and Geoff VeZain.
