Edward Charles Newcomer passed away peacefully on October 17th, 2010 at his home in Pleasant Hill, CA at the age of 87. Ed was born in Houghton, Washington, one of eight children born to Calvin and Edith Newcomer.

Edward served his country as a US Marine, during WWII, in the Russell Islands, Eniwetok, and at Mare Island, where he met and married his loving wife, Annette, in 1945. They have been married 65 wonderful years.

Edward is survived by his wife Annette, five children; Randall, Lois Heiden, Glenn, Kevin, and Alan; 2 sisters, Martha Bandy and Mabel O'Rork, 11 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son, Brian.

Edward was a founding member of Christ The King Catholic Church and School in Pleasant Hill. He was a member of the Walnut Creek Elks Lodge. He enjoyed reading, bowling, fishing, playing cards, and traveling in their 5th wheel camping trailer. There was much relaxation and enjoyment spent at a cabin in Lake Tahoe, with his love, Annette, and his wonderful growing family.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8pm with Vigil Services at 7pm at Moore's Mission Funeral Home, 1390 Monument Blvd, Concord, CA. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10am at Christ the King Catholic Church, 199 Brandon Road, Pleasant Hill, CA. Edward will be interred with full Military honors at The Sacramento V.A. National Cemetery in Dixon, CA at 10am Monday, October 25th.
