Services for Mr. Archie Dewey Wright will be held Friday at 11 am at Stephens Funeral Home chapel. Rev. Stephen Wright and Rev. Matthew Fancher will be officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Forest Cemetery in Collinsville.
Mr. Wright, 83, of Collinsville passed away Sunday at Covington County Hospital. He was a veteran having served his country in the U.S. Navy, serving in the Korean War. Having been a machine and tool die maker by trade, he worked in maintenance at West Lauderdale School for 19 years.
He is survived by his children Michael Wright and wife Debbie of Brandon, Diana Nunez and husband Marty of Slidell, LA, Gail Travis and husband Glenn of Spanish Fort, AL.
Mr. Wright is also survived by his grandchildren Leigh Anne Fancher and husband Matthew, Amy Wright, Stephen Wright and wife Holly, Heather Thomas and husband Sam, Kayla Travis, Kevin Travis, Lindsay Nunez, Julian Nunez, great grandchildren Lora Leigh Fancher and Allie Claire Fancher along with numerous nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harland Wright and Bertha Waddell; wife, Claire Johnson Wright; sister, Bonnie Rogers and brothers, Kenneth Wright and Richard Wright.
Pallbearers will be Michael Wright, Julian Nunez, Kevin Travis, Glenn Travis, Marty Nunez and Sam Thomas.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5pm to 7pm and one hour prior to service on Friday at Stephens Funeral Home.
