Marilyn Kaye Stevens, 51, of Wilder, died Monday, August 29, 1994, at the Caldwell
hospital of natural causes. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 2,
1994, at Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Rev. Gay Jeffery of the Wilder United Methodist
Church and Sam Parvin of Wilder will officiate. Interment will be at the Wilder Cemetery.
Marilyn was born April 21, 1943, at Steele City, Nebraska, the daughter of Walter and
Wilma Fuqua. She was reared and educated at Roswell, Idaho, and graduated from Parma High
School in 1961. She attended Nampa Business College and worked at Home Dairies in Nampa
until receiving a ring from Ted Stevens on her eighteenth birthday. They were married
August 12, 1962, and were married for 32 wonderful years. Marilyn worked side by side
with Ted on the dairy farm while raising their three children, Belinda, Colleen and
Randy. The Grange was a very big part of Marilyn's life. She joined the Fargo Grange in
1963 and was also a member of Canyon County Pomona Grange. She joined the Idaho State
Grange and in 1973, joined the National Grange in Boise, receiving the 7th Degree. She
worked very diligently while holding offices in the Grange. She loved to put Grange
scrapbooks of activities together and was always trying to make her community a better
place to live. At the time of her death, Marilyn had been an active member of the Grange
for 31 years. Marilyn was named the Idaho Dairymen's Association, Idaho Dairy Wife of the
Year in 1988. She was named Idaho State Granger of the Year also in 1988 by the Idaho
State Grange and also helped organize the Wilder Head Start Program and organize the
Wilder Public Library. Marilyn is survived by her husband, Ted of Wilder; two daughters
and their spouses, Belinda and Neil Williams of Meridian and Colleen and Wayne Foster of
Boise; and a son, Randy and his wife, Teresa of Boise. Marilyn was the fifth child of
nine. Her surviving siblings are Gene Fuqua and his wife, Lola of Notus, Agnes Collins of
Parma, Elsie Eskew and her husband, Wayne of Caldwell, her twin sister, Carolyn Allison
and her husband, Ray of Agra, Oklahoma, Jim Fuqua and his wife, Rexina of Springville,
Utah, Linda Fuqua of Louisville, Kentucky, Sharlene Nickel and her husband, Don of
Caldwell, and Karen Browning of Melba. She is also survived by four grandchildren,
Robert, Amanda, Kimberly and Brandon; a step grandchild, Jennifer; and numerous nieces
and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
