Gorty Lowell Aslin of Bloomfield, son of the late Ernest Clyde and Eva Caroline Pruitt Aslin, was born near Bloomfield, Missouri on January 17, 1925, and passed away at the Southeast Health of Stoddard County in Dexter, Missouri on February 18, 2015, at the age of 90 years, 1 month and 1 days.

He had lived in the Bloomfield area all his life. He had farmed and ranched all his life and was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. He was Past Worshipful Master of the Masonic Lodge 153 A.F & A.M. in 1971. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and was a member of the Amvets and the American Legion.

On April 5, 1947, he was married to Betty Louise Ward in St. Louis, Missouri. She preceded him in death on September 21, 1983. Surviving are two sons and wives, Bill & Janice Aslin and Bob & Donna Aslin all of Bloomfield; one daughter and husband, Lynn & Gary Huffman of Bloomfield; four grandchildren and spouses, Chris & Mary Williamson of Bloomfield, Sonja & Michael Hobbs of Bloomfield, Sarah & Bret Barton of Collierville, Tennessee, Nathan & Courtney Aslin of Bloomfield; five great grandchildren & spouse, Kodie & Hunter Dement, Sophie Aslin, and Brant Hobbs all of Bloomfield, Brooke Barton and Kinley Barton both of Collierville, Tennessee. Other relatives and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by one grandson, “Bo” Aslin in 2012, one sister, Leah Fisher, three brothers, Carmen, Clinton and Kenneth Aslin.

Interment will be in the Walker Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri
