Services for Henry Coon, 80, Lawrence, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary with the Rev. Gustav Van Tassel and student intern pastor Judy O'Neal officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Coon died Saturday, Feb. 19, 1994, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He was born April 23, 1913, near Milan, Mo., the son of Austin and Mary Arrasmith Coon.

A Lawrence resident since 1953, Mr. Coon was a tape machine operator at Lawrence Paper Co. for 23 years. He retired in 1976. He married Pauline Murphy on Oct. 23, 1934, at Milan. She survives of the home. Other survivors include a daughter, Mary Mae Atwell, Perry; a sister, Clara Warren, Milan; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Edward in 1993 and Nelson in 1939.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the mortuary. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, sent in care of the funeral home.
