Zelma Lee Dollarhide, 98, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2001, at Golden Oaks Village in Stillwater.
Services will be at 11 am at First United Mehodist Church Chapel with Rev. Stanley Warfield officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Strode Funeral Home.
She was born Sept. 22, 1902, in Hochatown, Indian Territory, to William K. and Annie Allene (Mitchell) Dollarhide.
She attended Eagletown Indian School and Wright City School before graduating from Durant High School. She received her BA as well as her master of arts from Oklahoma A&M.
She married Henry Stockmeyer in 1921 in Wright City. They later divorced.
She taught school in Broken Bow, Pine Valley, Muse and Oklahoma City. She also taught across the nation: Alaska before it became a state; Arkansas, during WWII at a Japanese internment camp; California; Florida and 17 years in New Mexico before returning to Broken Bow.
She was a member of the national Educators Association, Ruth Sunday School classes and 42 Domino Club. She was active in her church, taught Sunday school, enjoyed cooking, being with her family, playing piano and singing. She was a big Cincinnati Reds fan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
She had no survivors.
