Rubel Rudd, 88, of Symsonia died at 7:15 a.m. Thursday at his home.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Rudd received the Purple Heart. He was a retired yard foreman for Cole Lumber Company and groundskeeper for George Churchwell Homes. He was a native of Graves County and a member and deacon of Clarks River Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Charlene Ramage Rudd; four daughters, Jane Darnell of Marshall County, Judy Chapman of Paducah, Sherry Jarvis of Symsonia and Kathie Brooks of Hardmoney; one son, the Rev. Kyle Rudd of Trenton, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, three brothers and one grandchild. His parents were Ed Rudd and Nancy Thomasson Rudd.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with the Rev. Kyle Rudd officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
