Garden County News, pg 5, July 28, 2011:

Barbara Frey Wilson passed peacefully from this life at her home on Tuesday, July 5, 2011.She was born on March 5, 1921 in Lewellen, Nebraska. Her parents, Clara Steward Frey and Herbert A. Frey, preceded her in death as did her husband, Meredith (Mert) Lewellen and her only sister, Enid Frey Meier. Barbara lived in Western Nebraska throughout her childhood and early marriage, later residing in Mexia, Texas. Following Mr. Lewellen's untimely death in 1966, she married Jack Wilson and made her home in Houston until moving to Dallas in 1990. She was an avid bridge player, an active participant in the Burgess-Craig Class at Park Cities Baptist Church, and always enjoyed friendships with her neighbors. Barbara cherished time spent with her family, especially enjoying holiday and birthday gatherings and summer trips to Montana. Barbara lived her life with basic principles of faith in her Lord, Jesus Christ, love for her family and a strong sense of patriotism. She leaves a lasting legacy of devotion as a daughter, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She listened to us--she laughed with us, loved and supported us, and always forgave. She is survived by her daughter, Meredith (Merrie Ann) King and Frank A. King; her grandchildren: Fred Brown, III, Cynthia Brown Bequette, Meredith Brown Alexander, Alice King Christoff-ersen, and Frank-Paul King. She was "Mi Mi" to great-grandchildren: Emily, Jake, Sam, Joe, Lily, Adam, Annabel, Michael, Anna, Jonathan, Christian, Stevie, Jessica, Fred, IV and Zoe. She is also survived by two nieces-- Connie Meier Koepke and Debbie Meier Silverman of Nebraska. Mrs. Wilson's family acknowledges and gives heartfelt love and thanks to Kay Lovil, Carmen Garay, Frankie Knowles, Karen Rehders, Mattie Maguire and Dorothy Jones for the kindness, support and loving care which they have given during the past several years. Grateful appreciation is also extended to Faith Hospice for the comfort and care which was so graciously provided. A private family service of love and thanksgiving was held on Friday, July 8 in Dallas with the Right Reverend Philip Jones, celebrant. If so desired, memorial donations may be directed to the Salvation Army, Faith Hospice or a charity of choice.
