Wain Barber, 85, of rural Warsaw, Missouri, died Sunday, February 15, 2015, at Clinton Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Clinton, Mo.

He was born on May 26, 1929, in rural Warsaw, Mo., on the family farm, the son of Manard Wainwright Barber and Alvena (Beaman) Barber. On November 28, 1952 in Harrisonville, Arkansas, he married Betty Lou Warren and she preceded him in death on June 18, 2014.

After graduating from high school, Wain joined the United States Air Force. After his honorable discharge from the Air Force, Wain went to work for General Motors for a period of time and then went to work for Bendix (now Honeywell Manufacturing and Technology) retiring in 1991 after many years. He was a member of a Machinist Union of Kansas City, Mo. Wain enjoyed woodworking especially making game boards for Chinese Checkers and Aggravation, cutting his own cedar trees and selling the logs.

Survivors include 2 sons, Darrel W. Barber, Jefferson City, Mo.; Ricky Lee Barber, Goddard, Kansas; a daughter, Connie Sue Hays, Warrensburg, Mo.; 8 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Leta Cooper and Jane Wilson, both of Windsor, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Betty, he was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lillian Goucher.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., February 21, 2015, at the Calvary Baptist Church, Windsor, with Rev. Justin Wright officiating. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor.
