Rebecca "Becky" Barnes was the daughter of Dr. Henry Benskin Christian Harris and Sarah Calvert Harris. Born in Missouri, she married Spencer Gill Barnes, son of Edward Spencer Barnes and Mary Ann Dooley Barnes, on Dec. 15, 1869 in Platte Co, Missouri. Following the death of her husband in 1905, she moved to Lincoln, Nebraska - where she died at the home of a daughter in July 1930. As noted in her obituary in the St. Joseph Gazette, Becky and her husband were among founding members of Wyatt Park Christian Church in St. Joseph, Missouri - and her funeral service was officiated by that church's pastor. Burial was in Ashland Cemetery, St. Joseph, Missouri.
