Pastor Burdiss was born Sept. 15, 1939, in Snake Island, W. V. and moved to the area in 1980 from Kansas City, Kan.
He was currently serving as pastor of the Bethpage Church. He established the 'Fear Not Ministries' and for many years had a tent ministry.
Cecil married Velma Poore on July 21, 1961, at Kansas City, Kans., and she survives.
Additional survivors include four children, Billy Burdiss and wife Ginger, Cassville, Mo., Julie McCool and husband Mark, Grove, Okla., LaRhonda Gibson and husband Jr., Southwest City, Mo., and Ange Kackley and husband Casey, Granby, a daughter-in-law, Sheri Morrow, Nacomis, Ill., his mother-in-law, Dorine Kinnaird, Kansas City, Kan. one sister, Margaret Richmond, Linwood, Kan. 20 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Elmer Burdiss, and 11 brothers and sisters.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 15, 2006, at the Clark Funeral Home chapel of Memories. David Donaldson will officiate. Burial will be in the Gibson Cemetery.
