Betty was born on May 8th, 1950 in Somerset, Kentucky, daughter of the late Charles Edward and Lucy Marie Sawyer Haney. Betty faithfully attended Bogletown Pentecostal Church and also attended Gospel Tabernacle. She enjoyed reading her bible, going to Church, watching television, and spending time with family and friends.
Betty was survived by her loving husband of 11 years, James Mounce, whom she married in Somerset, Kentucky on May 3rd, 2003; one brother, Harold Haney; one daughter, Grace (and Jay) Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who mourn her passing.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Haney, who departed this life on April 4th, 1985 and Lucy Haney, who departed this life on February 15th, 2013; three brothers, Kenneth E. Haney, Bernard T. Haney, and Robert C. Haney; and four sisters, Mary F. Abbott, Joyce A. Mounce, Ella M. Mounce, and Sally F. Haney.
Visitations were held on Tuesday, February 17th, 2015 after 6:00 p.m. at the Bogletown Pentecostal Church in Somerset, Kentucky. The Southern Oaks Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky was in charge of the arrangements for Betty.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, February 18th, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Bogletown Pentecostal Church with Bro. Lester Randolph, Bro. Donald Ashley, and Bro. Jeff Phillips officiating.
Burial followed in the Rush Branch Cemetery in Pulaski County, Kentucky.
