Florence Meehan

Funeral services for Florence Mary Meehan, 27, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Meehan, Bernard, were held from the home Friday morning to St. Patrick's church, Garryowen, at nine o’clock […illegible section…] read the requiem mass and preached the funeral sermon. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery where Rev. A. J. Schmitz officiated at the graveside services.

Pallbearers were: Dave Stanton, Harold Meloy, Ambrose McDonnell, Al Wolbers, Paul Leonard and Clem Donovan.
Florence Meehan was born in Bernard in June, 1910. She died at Sunnycrest in Dubuque at 8:00 o'clock last Wednesday morning, following an extended illness.

She received her education in the rural school and St. Patrick's high school, Garryowen, and Mt. Mercy, Cedar Rapids.

Surviving besides her parents are two brothers, Kenneth and Carl; four sisters, Lucille, Geraldine, Mary Helen and Cleo at home. She was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
