Surviving are two sons, Philip and Donald, both of Indianapolis; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She attended William and Mary College and the University of Cincinnati. She taught fifth grade Sunday school for many years at Agudas Achim synagogue in Peoria.
She was a member of Agudas Achim and its Ladies Auxiliary. She was past president of B'Nai B'rith and a life member of Hadassah. She volunteered for more than 30 years at the Salvation Army, St. Jude Midwest Affiliate, and OSF St. Francis Hosppital children's polio unit. She served on the Board of Directors of B'nai B'rith home for many years and was a charter member of St. Jude Midwest Affilate in Peoria.
Graveside services will be at 2:15 Wednesday at Peoria Hebrew Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate or Marilyn Hester Memorial Fund in care of Walther Cancer Research Center in Indianapolis.
