IVAN DOYLE BARTON, JR. June 13, 1940 - Mar 8, 2008 Ivan Doyle Barton, 67, died Saturday, March 8, 2008, in Texas City, Texas. The funeral is scheduled at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at Crowder Funeral Home in Webster. Interment will be at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.

Ivan Doyle Barton was born June 13, 1940 in Houston, Texas, the only child of Ivan and Flossie Barton. A 1958 graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School in Houston, Ivan earned a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Houston in 1962 and graduated with cum laude honors as a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and Alpha Epsilon Rho National Honorary Radio-Television Fraternity.

In 1963, Ivan joined the U.S. Air Force which included Vietnam service in 1967-68 at the Tan Son Nhut Air Base in Saigon. Achieving the rank of captain, he was honorably discharged in 1969. Ivan was a member of the Tan Son Nhut Association. He joined Sony Corporation as a digital engineer in 1969 and retired in 1998. He was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
