KENNETH CRAWFORD ABAR OBITUARY
Calgary Herald – January 3 1997

ABAR – Kenneth Crawford Abar passed away at the Agape Manor Hospice on December 31, 1996 at the age of 58 years. He is survived by his loving wife Bernice; four children, Warren (Junko), Janine Kessler (Ben), Wendi Stoodley (Kelly) and Darren; two grandchildren, Melanie and Skylar; his mother Agnes; a brother Maurice; and a sister Vera Jeffrey; as well as numerous other relatives. He was predeceased by his father Wesley and his brother Ivan. Ken was born and raised in Carrot River, SK. He worked and lived in numerous parts of the country until settling in the Calgary area thirty years ago. He worked as a surveyor for the Department of Highways; a milkman for Palm/Purity Dairies; a Construction Supervisor for Transport Canada at the Calgary Airport; and recently retired from Parks Canada as an Asset Manager. Ken enjoyed the hard work and rewards of his farm in the Lyalta area and belonged to the Cheadle Lions. His freely given advice, sense of humour and generosity will be greatly missed. He was deeply loved by his family and will be fondly remembered. Funeral Services will be held at Heritage Funeral Home, 1708 – 16 Avenue N.W. (across from North Hill Shopping Centre) on Saturday, January 4, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. Interment Queens Park Cemetery, Monday, January 6, 1997 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to the Cancer Society of Agape Hospice.
