In 1880, Ellender is living with William Bryan in Mason Township, Lawrence County, Ohio. She appears to have moved into the house of Cornelius Bryan in the same area after this date. William moved to West Virginia and reported to his brother Asbery that he heard of her death from Cornelius. Ellender is believed to have been buried in the Lawrence Chapel Cemetery. Her grave is not marked, but is believed to be one of the few unmarked graves very near where the old chapel once stood.
