Edward Earl Donaldson, M.D., age 95, formerly of Columbus, Ohio, died Tuesday night, Feb. 10, 2015, at Alliance Community Hospital, Alliance, Ohio. Ed was born April 29, 1919, to James and Marie (Erdman) Donaldson in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Ed graduated from Oliver High School, Pittsburgh, Pennslvania (1937); Marietta College, Marietta, Ohio (1942), where he met and later married Bea Wetherholt in 1946; and Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine (1951) in Cleveland, Ohio. He worked in pediatrics for over 45 years on the east side of Columbus in private practice, and at St. Ann's and Nationwide Children's Hospitals. He was an emeritus member of the Central Ohio Pediatrics Society, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Medical Association; and professor through The Ohio State University College of Medicine.

Ed was a 1st lieutenant in the U.S. Army, serving in North Africa, Italy and Southern France in World War II.

He is survived by his loving daughter and son-in-law, Mary Beth (Dr. Paul W.) Buck; daughter-in-law, Marlene M. Donaldson; grandchildren, Dr. Kelly (Alex) Vaughan, Matthew (Michael Carrow) and Andrew Buck, Alexander, James, Michelle and Andrea Donaldson; sister, Ruth Marshall; and many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

In addition to his parents, Ed is preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Bea (Wetherholt) Donaldson (2001); son, Scott Edward Donaldson (2005); and brothers, Cliff (Ann), Jim (Gail) and Harry (Terry).

Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5600 E. Broad St., Columbus, OH 43213.
