Luke B. Boll, 84, of Stevens, formerly of Willow Street, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at Ephrata Community Hospital.

He was born in Lititz to the late Noah and Viola (Benner) Boll and was the husband of Sara Ann (Swartzentruber) Boll with whom he shared 54 years of marriage.

Luke was a member of Rawlinsville Mennonite Church, Holtwood, where he served as deacon for 22 years.

Luke was a faithful, loving husband and father. He was kind and gentle, and had a sense of humor accompanied with a winning smile. Luke lived a conscientious, Christian life and his personal faith left a Godly example for the family he faithfully raised. He was known for his friendly ways and enjoyed meeting people. Luke was compassionate for the needs of others and had a servant’s heart. He was known for his generosity and found special joy in helping others.

Luke was a poultry and crop farmer for most of his life. After selling their farm in Holtwood, Luke enjoyed doing volunteer work for various nonprofit organizations, including Bald Eagle Wilderness Boys Camp, Camp Andrews, and most recently Christian Aid Ministries, where he regularly volunteered three days a week.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 5 children: Gerald L., husband of Esther (Martin) Boll; Anita R., wife of John Peachey; Sharon K., wife of Randy Martin; Linda J., wife of Timothy Stoltzfus; Louetta J., wife of Dean Good; 27 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 10 siblings: Rhoda, wife of Robert Sensenig; Joseph, husband of Esther Boll; Roy, husband of Lois Boll; Ruth Weaver; Titus, husband of Lois Boll; Irene Haller; Homer, husband of Shirley Boll; Elvin, husband of Clarene Boll; Lester, husband of Dorothy Boll; and Esther, wife of Stanley Wine.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Sanford Boll, and a sister, Anna Mary Kreider.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, February 15, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm, at New Danville Mennonite Church, 103 Marticville Road, Lancaster. An additional viewing will take place on Monday, February 16, from 9 to 10 am, at the church, followed by funeral services at 10 am, with Pastors John Reeser, Paul Hess and Wesley Metzler officiating. Interment will be at the Rawlinsville Mennonite Church Cemetery, Holtwood.
