Mrs. Mahalia Cooper, age 100 of Rockwood, Tennessee passed away at The Bridge in Rockwood on Thursday, January 22, 2015. Mrs. Cooper was a lifetime member of Whites Creek Baptist Church in Rockwood, Tennessee.
She was born on December 28, 1914 in Shoopman, Kentucky.
Mrs. Cooper was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Nellie Watson Jones, husband, Fred Cooper, Sr.; sons, Fred Cooper, Jr., Shirley Cooper; daughters, Norma Lee Pitts, Wilma Jean Cooper, brothers, Red Jones, Clyde Jones, Emmett Jones, Sherman Jones; sister, Katherine Alexander.
Survivors include Grandsons Wayne Cooper of Rockwood, TN, Jim Pitts, Jr. of Hollywood, AL, Jason Cooper of Rockwood, TN. Sister-in-Laws Jackie Jones of Rockwood, TN; Venona Jones of Rockwood, TN. Several nieces and nephews
Family will receive friends Saturday, January 31, 2015 in the chapel of Evans Mortuary from 5:00-7:00pm. The funeral service will follow at 7:00pm with Rev. Roger Britton officiating.
Graveside service will be Sunday, February 1, 2015 at 2:00pm in Glen Alice Cemetery, Rockwood, TN.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Evans Mortuary toward funeral expenses. Evans Mortuary is serving the family of Mrs. Mahalia Cooper.
