Mr. Fred Thomas “Tommy” Bashlor Jr., 64, passed away Tuesday February 10, 2015 at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, GA.
Mr. Bashlor was born in 1950 to the late Sally Ellie Hodges and Fred Thomas Bashlor Sr.
He attended Groves High School in Savannah, GA and was a longtime member of the Pooler Bible Baptist Church. He was employed by Crosby’s Paving Co. for many years as a dump truck driver. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved the Great Smokey Mountains. He will be fondly remembered for being a loving husband, father, brother, and uncle.
He is survived by wife, Bonnie Mock Bashlor of Savannah, GA, his children, Sally Elizabeth Bashlor of Tifton, and Thomas Walter Bashlor of Sylvania, his brothers; Randy (Maria) Bashlor and Dewey (Lisa) Bashlor, both of Savannah, and his sister; Glenda (Dickie) Vinson of Savannah, his mother-in-law Betty McDowell Mock of Sylvania, in-laws, Wanda & Jack Walker of Martinez, Nancy & Wayne Williams of Grovetown, and Bobby & Kim Mock of Leesburg, FL, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 12, 2015 from 6:00-8:00PM at Joiner Anderson Screven Chapel.
Services will be Friday, February 13, 2015 at 2:00PM at Farmdale Baptist Church in Sylvania, GA, with Rev. Johnny Bowen, Rev. Kevin Smith, and Rev. Jeff Hubbard. Mr. Bashlor will lie in state for an hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in the Farmdale Baptist Church Cemetery
Pallbearers will be George Rushing, Chris Rushing, Michael Bashlor, Stevie Bashlor, Wayne Hodges, and Ricky Jeffcoat.
