i. George Anderson, born Bef. 1782

NOTES
Christina Wysor, daughter of Adam and Elizabeth Beck Weiser, married Jacob Anderson in Frederick County, VA.

Currently, about all we know about Jacob's past is found in his Revolutionary War pension file, where we obtain his birth date of July 5, 1758.

Existing documents with his signature show he signed his name in German script, suggesting a German heritage.

Also, he seemed to sign his name as "Jacob Endersen", although anyone who has ever seen old German script knows that the writing can be open to several interpretations.

Jacob Anderson is found in a 1782 tax list for Frederick County, VA, with a household of three people (Jacob, his wife Christina, and oldest son George).

Jacob enlisted in the Virginia Militia in 1776 serving under Captain George Thurston for six months they remained in Fredrick County Virginia, in the later part of the year they marched to Philadelphia and then to Trenton on the Delaware River. They then marched to Lord Sterling's building on the Baresher Ridge where he was in two skirmishes, one at Piscataway Swamp and the other at Quibbletown, New Jersey. He was discharged from Captain Thurston troops in early1777.

In mid 1777 he was drafted for three months serving under Captain Helms, attached to General Potter's Brigade in Pennsylvania at the West encampment on Chestnut Ridge near Philadelphia. He was discharged .there at the end of 1777.

He enlisted in the 1778 for the full year; in the fall of 1778 he was assigned to Colonel Smith to guard prisoners in Fredrick County. Toward the end of the year they joined a mounted troop in Baltimore and were sent to Philadelphia. He was discharged there to return home.

Jacob married Christiana Weiser Wysor, daughter of Adam Weiser Wysor and Elizabeth Beckon 24 March 1779 in Fredrick County Virginia. She was born 01 Mar 1761 in Lehigh Pennsylvania..

He was drafted again at the beginning of 1781 for eighteen months; he hired a substitute for the first six months to be at home for the birth of his first child, he completed his obligation serving under Colonel Dark. He was discharged for the last time in the middle of 1782.
Jacob and Christiana settled on 450 acre land grant originally assigned to Jacob Anderson in 1781, Pulaski Co, VA, where they built their home and raised their eleven children.
Jacob died 21 February 1842 in Pulaski Virginia; Will follows. Christina died 28 July 1846 Pulaski Virginia,
