Mrs. Hilda Christensen Larsen, 62, widow of Jens Larsen was found dead in her bed Tuesday morning by her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hughes.
Mrs. Larsen was born in Mt. Pleasant, May 19, 1874, a daughter of Andrew and Nellie Tuggesen Christensen. She died on her birthday in the same house in which she was born 62 years ago. Born blind, she overcame insurmountable difficulties, and underwent three operations on her eyes, none of which helped her.
She was married in the Manti L. D. S. temple, September 2, 1896, to Jens Larsen, a native of Denmark. Mr. Larsen died April 28, 1903, and she became the sole support of her four children and a stepson. She was a member of the L. D. S. church.
Surviving are three daughters and two sons, Mrs. Ella L. Roberts, Mrs. Bertha L. Hughes, Mrs. Nellie L. Lund, Wilford Larsen, Mt. Pleasant, and Rudolph Larsen, Melba, Idaho; eighteen grandchildren, four brothers and three sisters, Mrs. Cecilia Reynolds, Sanford, Colo.; Nephi Christensen, Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Tena Rasmussen, Andrew Christensen and John Ericksen, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Christina Moore, Melba, Idaho and David Christensen, Ephraim.
