Mrs. Sarah Mounce Flynt, 94, formerly of Alpine Road, died Sunday evening at Brighton Gardens. She was born July 25, 1908, in Stokes County, to James Oscar Mounce and Rosie Yates Mounce. Mrs. Flynt was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church. She retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Solly F. "Bill" Flynt in 1999; two daughters, Louise Taylor and Elizabeth Reece; a son, Walter Sapp Jr.; a grandson, Gene Sapp; four brothers; and two sisters.
Surviving are her sons, E.C. "Monk" Sapp and his wife, Bonnie of Lewisville and Luther Sanders of Willow Grove, Pa.; three grandsons, William, Robert and Thomas Sanders of Willow Grove; seven granddaughters, Linda Hancock, Brenda Carroll, Gloria Gorena, Patricia Osman, Barbara Smith, Deborah Fulk and Rebecca Smith; 23 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren; and a granddaughter-in-law, Sabrina Sapp.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. today at Vogler & Sons Reynolda Road Chapel, with the Rev. Gus Thomas officiating. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery.
