Mrs. Ottis Simmons Payne, 75, 1212 Stroud Avenue, passed away at a local hospital Monday 3:45 a.m. after an extended illness.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Helen Keener and Mrs. Margie Butler, Gadsden; one son, George H. Payne, Woodland Hills, California; seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday 11 a.m. from Collier-Butler Chapel with the Rev. John Gibbs officiating. Interment in Crestwood Cemetery ( INCORRECT; BURIED AT FORREST)
Active pallbearers: Ned Simmons, Roy Simmons, Manley Simmons, Larry Keener, Kenneth Keener and Sam Vincent.
Mrs. Payne was a native of St. Clair County and a resident of Etowah County for the past 6 years. She was a member of Evergreen Methodist Church, St. Clair County.
