My father. He was the son of Nelva Jean (Thurston) Shepherd and Warren Ronald Shepherd, and younger brother of Cheryl Denise (Shepherd) Rambin and Steven Ronald Shepherd.
On May 17, 1980, in Texas, he married his college sweetheart, Dixie Lee Beene, daughter of Aaron Beene and Frances (Sheffield) Beene. Four children resulted from this marriage: Christina (that's me), Steven, Daniel, and Laura.
He died in his sleep while visiting his parents in Bakersfield, California.

Funeral services were held in Palestine, Texas, on May 5, 2006 [and another service was in Kenosha, Wisconsin on May 13, 2006]."
He was an employee of Snap-On Tools Inc. for twenty years, and moved his family from San Antonio, TX to Kenosha, WI in 1997 to better serve the company. Before working for Snap-On Tools, he worked as a police officer, even becoming the Chief of Police for Panorama Village, TX (near Conroe).
He loved motorcycles and had lots of them, both dirtbikes and streetbikes. His pride and joy was his old Honda Goldwing!
Though born in California, he spent most of his life in Texas and Louisiana, and thought of Texas as his home. He was a very hard worker who cared dearly for the welfare of his family. He left a good name for himself, and will always be loved by those who knew him.
Cause of death: Bronchial pneumonia, probably caused by an unknown heart condition. (He'd long had problems with high blood pressure.)
