STEEVES, SHIRLEY
Shirley Grace Steeves, 87, of Fundy Royal Manor, Hillsborough passed away peacefully on April 7th, 2015 at her residence.
Shirley was born in Winnoski, Vermont on February 2, 1928 the daughter of the late Rex and Goldie (Smith) Steeves, and grew up in Hillsborough. She was a housewife and took great pride in raising her family with her husband, Gerald in Westbrook, Maine. Her family was her main priority in life and she truly cherished all the times they spent together. In later years Shirley and Gerald returned to their roots in Albert County, which was dear to their hearts. Shirley attended the Valley Baptist Church. She belonged to the Red Hat Society and had a lot of fun on her outings with the girls. She always had a sweet smile and a kind "hello" for everyone she met. She will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
She will be deeply missed by her three daughters, Marolyn Bissonnette (Gerry) of Saco, Maine, Gail Morabito (Brian) of Westbrook, Maine and Beverly Richmond (Roger) of Freeport, Maine; her five treasured grandchildren, Daniel, Emily, Peter, Molly and Abby; four precious great grandchildren. She will also be missed by several nieces and nephews. Shirley was the last member of her immediate family.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Gerald H. Steeves; sisters, Jean, Eleanor, Gloria, and Arlene; brothers, Burt, Ray, Hilburn "Boots", Merle, and Carl "Bud."
A Memorial Service will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home at a later date. Interment will be in the Albert Mines Baptist Cemetery.
Donations to the Kidney Foundation or to the memorial of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated.
Arrangements are in the care of the Albert County Funeral Home.
