Member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church
CONNEAUT, Ohio _ Clifford N. Cox, 76, 244 Center St., Conneaut, died Monday, June 3, 1996, at Hamot Medical Center.
He was born in Conneaut Dec. 2, 1919, son of the late Charles H. and Laura Cox.
Mr. Cox was a graduate of Conneaut High School; attended barber school in Erie; owned and operated a barber shop in Ashtabula for more than 20 years; was an active member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, having been a member of the properties committee and serving as an usher; served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II as an
instrument mechanic in the South Pacific; and his interests included woodworking, remote control airplanes, oil painting and quilt making.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Cox, and by a sister, Laura Chicatelli.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice Cox, with whom he celebrated their 50th anniversary on March 3; a sister, June Moffat of Canfield, Ohio; a son, David C. Cox of Conneaut; two grandsons, Christopher of Ohio and Clifford of Ventura, Calif.; and a number of more distant
relatives.
Friends may call at Marcy Funeral Home, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, Ohio, Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m., and may attend a service Thursday at 10:30 a.m., at the Good Shepard Lutheran Church. The Rev. Clyde McGee, pastor of the church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetary, Conneaut.
Memorials may be made to the abiding memorial of the church.
Envelopes are available from the funeral home or at the church.
