BELTON, SC - Samuel "Sam" Gilbert Girardeau Sr., 89, husband of Gladys Wilbanks Girardeau, died Sunday, July 24, 2005, at Westside Nursing Home in Greenville.
Born in Greenville, he retired from Elliott Metal Works and was a member of Dunean Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, of the home; four daughters, Gladys Nell McMakin of Belton, Carol Elizabeth Morrow of Greer, Judy Kay Lancaster of Greenville and Sandra Eileen Clark of Laurens; three sons, Samuel Gilbert Girardeau Jr., Franklin Marvin Girardeau and Donald Buck Girardeau, all of Greenville; a brother, Wallace E. Girardeau of Williamston; 24 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville by the Rev. Calvin Holland.
The family is at the home of a daughter, Judy Lancaster, 206 Alice Farr Drive, Greenville.
Gray Mortuary, Pelzer, is in charge of arrangements.
